Frequently asked questions

Eyelash Extensions

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are individual, semi-permanent synthetic lashes that are attached one by one to your own natural lashes giving you longer, darker and more abundant lashes that need an in fill every 2 to 4 weeks depending on how the person cares for them as well as their own natural lash cycle. Extensions are perfect for everyday wear and especially for special occasions. With proper care and touchup visits they can last a very long time. Normally a person’s natural eyelash falls out every 45-90 days and a new lash grows in immediately. Therefore, it is necessary to get touch-ups to fill in the spaces. Refills should be done every 2 weeks, however, this will vary from person to person. Your natural lash cycle and how well you take care of your lashes will affect the bonding length of the eyelash extensions. As a beauty professional it is important to stay current on the latest and hottest trends. Lashes TM has been doing lashes since 2009 and continues at the top of their game!

How often do I need a fill?

We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Other factors such as exposure to steam, humidity or touching your eyes alot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. Touch-ups can take anywhere from 45 - 60 minutes, depending on how long you wait between appointments. During your touch-up appointment, we will remove make-up residue, remove grown-out extensions, prime your lashes and apply extensions to new lash growth. A good indicator of when to be in for a fill is when your extensions are 50% gone.

Who should not get eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions may not be suitable for people who: -Have pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea -Are very rough with themselves and do not want to follow after care instructions -Want a very heavy mascara look but do not have the natural lashes to support it -Have a condition called Trichotillomania, which is compulsive pulling or twisting of hair or eyelashes -Are in chlorinated water many times a week -Cannot control rubbing their eyes

Laser Hair Removal

How many sessions do I need?

Most clients will see 70%-90% of hair clearance after 8-10 consecutive treatments, however results may vary for each individual and additional treatments may be required. Treatments are most effective when spaced 6 weeks apart.

What does it feel like?

Contrary to other lasers of the past which were very difficult to tolerate, The Soprano/Aphrodite/808 Diode Laser Systems are PAIN FREE. A water soluble gel will be applied to the skin to aid the laser's ability to glide smoothly. The laser wand/applicator is placed in contact with the skin and the laser light is passed as it is moved across the skin for superior hair removal.

I already wax/sugar; why laser?

Using painful waxing and sugaring methods only removes unwanted hair temporarily. Hair always regrows, sometimes thinner, resulting in ingrown hairs, bumps, irritation and redness. It is a method that must be repeated over and over again. It is not permanent. The laser also eliminates stubborn ingrown hairs.

The Soprano/Aphrodite /808 Diode Laser

This family of lasers use pulses of infrared diode laser energy to gradually heat the hair follicles in the subdermal layer of skin until eventually, the hair can no longer grow back. Cool tip wand ensures the surface of your skin remains cool throughout your treatment.

How do I prepare myself for treatment?

Shave and remove any make up or lotions on the areas that will be treated before you come in for your treatment. No waxing, tweezing or sugaring for minimum of 4 weeks before first treatment.

Who is a candidate for laser hair removal?

Improvements in laser technology now allow for safe and effective treatments on ALL skin types. Safe and effective for all ages. You will wonder why you hadn't done this sooner! Like all other lasers, grey, white, blonde & red hair cannot be effectively treated.
